Dear Parents,
There is growing evidence that student performance is influenced by high quality professional development opportunities for teachers. To improve student learning, schools will need structures and schedules that provide time for complex teaching and conditions that give serious ongoing assistance to learners. Without increased time for professional development linked to curriculum, teachers cannot acquire the knowledge and skills they need to help students perform at high levels.
Beginning in the fall of the next school year it is our goal to expand opportunities for teachers to grow professionally, by devoting time once a month for teacher learning and collaboration that will come in the form of a “Delayed Start” or “Early Release”.
If you have the Internet, we would like you to respond by going to our school web site at www.mcbain.org and clicking on the “Parent Survey” link to take the survey.
Thank you for your assistance in helping us create a better environment for student learning and achievement.
