Please read these instructions thoroughly before you begin the application.
This application includes three short answer responses of no more than 100 words each and one 300-word essay. You will be able to save the application once you begin so you may complete the application in more than one sitting. Make sure you submit your completed application with application fee by April 1st. Partial applications will not be accepted. Please prepare your responses before you begin and save your answers in a word document for your own records. The short answer responses are:
• Describe your daily creations.
• What inspires you to make art? For example, are there inspirational people in your life or places you like to go to make art?
• How would you like to expand your artistic knowledge? For example, are there any new tools or methods you would like to learn?
Please write a 300-word essay describing why you want to attend the summer program and what you expect to learn during the program.
Additionally, You will need to submit a PowerPoint portfolio of 10 images online, an official letter of recommendation and a $50 Application fee.
Portfolio
You must upload a single document containing all 10 images. Before you begin the application, create a power point document that includes your selected images.

Recommendation letter
All applicants are required to submit one
recommendation letter from a guidance counselor or school administrator that details the student's suitability for a program of this nature in New York City. Only stamped and sealed envelopes containing official recommendation letters will be accepted. Your application will not be reviewed until the recommendation letter is received.
1. The letter must be sent directly from the
guidance counselor or school administrator
to NYU.
2. The letter should be mailed to the following address by
March 25 to meet the April 1st application deadline.

Application Fee
All applicants must submit a
non-refundable $50 application fee upon completion of the Steinhardt Summer 2010 Art Intensive
online application. Your application will not be considered without the $50 application fee.
We suggest you pay the fee online. If this is not possible, you can submit your fee by completing the form "Payment of Application Fee" and sending it to us by fax or mail. Instructions will be provided in the application.
A completed application contains:
o 10 images in a PowerPoint file
o One recommendation letter
o A completed online application
o $50 application fee
All the above must be completed and received by
April 1st. Applicants will be informed of admission results by April 16th.
